Pennsylvania state licensure in massage therapy requires at personal and professional liability insurance, up-to-date CPR certification, at least 24 hours of hands-on continuing education every two years, courses on recognizing and reporting child abuse, and a preliminary education involving a minimum of 600 hours in anatomy, physiology, pathology, massage theory and technique. LMTs are prepared with a deep knowledge of working with the body and a spectrum of health conditions.
